How does Ultherapy work?

Ulthera (or Ultherapy) is a new technique for non-surgical face rejuvenation. It uses focused ultrasound that target deep tissue under the skin to treat sagging skin of the face or body.

Ulthera skin tightening has been approved by FDA. Ulthera targets tissue at depth of: 1.5 mm, 3 mm and 4.5 mm of the surface of the skin. It is therefore an overall treatment of the skin. Thus, ultrasound it is to overhaul the tissues that can generally be handled that way during a surgical cervicofacial lift for example.

The treatment lasts for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Discomfort during treatment is controlled by analgesics and anti-inflammatory medication. After treatment the patient can immediately return to daily activities. The patient can notice an immediate rejuvenating effect, but prolong changes take place gradually over 3 months.
